Quality Assurance

CASSI uses Quality Management Systems to ensure that our service maintains a focus on quality and continuous improvement. CASSI was one of the first disability services to gain a Quality Accreditation through an external independent firm of auditors in 1999. We have maintained our quality endorsed accreditation to this day.
In addition to that we have two other government based systems that examine the scope and extent of our service and support quality. In QLD that is the DSQS (Disability Sector Quality System) and in NSW it is the IMF (Integrated Monitoring Framework). Each of these is an expectation of government and each of these approaches the question of service quality from a different perspective.
CASSI’s quality approach has been audited and evaluated by an independent external agency; and CASSI was found to be successful in the way that we work within the guidelines expected for such an endorsement. CASSI also conducts periodic reviews internally by members of the Quality Review Committee. Quality systems are based on three main principles; the first is that there are sound policies and procedures in place; the second is that the people working for the service have a good understanding of how they are expected to do their job well; the third is that there is a solid written record of the workings of the organisation.
CASSI has a very sound record of achievement with quality management systems. We have been able to demonstrate the comprehensive way that we have embraced quality and continuous improvement as a leading principle in all that we do.
Our approach includes an opportunity for all involved at CASSI to make suggestions for improvement. These ideas can be recorded on a Service Improvement Form. All such suggestions are considered at our regular Quality Review meetings. These are excellent opportunities to reflect on our current practice and to explore other options.
